Commune de Lingé
With a vast are of water lilies, surrounded by a vast reeded, this beautiful lake provides for a very authentic landscape. One of the most important colonies of the Brenne’s Whiskered Terns occurs on the Water Lilies each spring, along with Black-necked Grebes and Red-crested Pochards. Bittern, Marsh Harrier and various other aquatic birds also use these habitats here. For a few years now, the Purais lake and surroundings fields are host to hundreds of roosting Common Cranes that come to the area to spend the winter; they are easily observed from the hide.
